It was set to be a legal showdown between the FFB and the Sports Council - a showdown the Minister of Sports said he felt confident about.
But after a first defeat in the courts - that confidence seems to have waned as the Sports Council today issued a somewhat sheepish release saying it is withdrawing the cancellation of the FFB's registration.
It's a surprising announcement - as it undoes all that was purposefully done in January when the FFB was de-registered. FFB president Dr. Bertie Chimilio had no comment and no knowledge of it - and Sports Advisor Dr. Clara Cuellar was not available for comment. FFB attorney Dean Barrow told us that with the order rescinded there's now no reason to proceed with the judicial review he requested form the Supreme Court.
Still the release says that the NSC will now seek to dialogue with the FFB to reach a resolution.
