The final witness for the prosecution in the quadruple murder trial of Leslie Pipersburgh and Patrick Robateau took the stand this afternoon.
Last on the stand was Belize's ambassador to Mexico Salvador Figueroa. Figueroa didn't complete his testimony though as the jury was sent home for the day to allow a submission from Defense attorney Linsbert Willis.
Willis submitted that the statement Patrick Robateau made to the ambassador while in a Mexico immigration holding cell should not be admitted. This after Leslie's Pipersburgh statement was admitted. Figueroa will return to the stand after Justice John Gonzalez makes his ruling tomorrow.
Also taking the stand today was the case lead investigator Inspector Robert Mariano who was grilled by both the judge and defense about the lack of any forensic or technical evidence linking the defendants to the murder. He was followed by Senior Superintendent of Police Crispin Jeffries who picked up Pipersburgh and Robateau at the airport after they were deported from Mexico.
Next on the stand was Herbert Casimiro who is the brother of murdered KBH security guard Kevin Alvarez. So far 22 witnesses have testified for the prosecution.
