And even as the good name of the department is sullied and soiled there are over a thousand police officers and the taint that's besmirched the name of one officer shouldn't sully the entire department.
That's why yesterday the commissioner continued the practice of awarding the officer of the month. 7NEWS was there when he gave the certificate of recognition to PC Clinton Magdaleno, an officer of the past 17 years.
He told us he is honored.

Magadaleno is currently attached to the prosecution branch. The officers are selected by a committee based on their performance, conduct and attire.
