Police are tonight on a manhunt for this man- 26 year old Michael 'Crazy' Arnold who escaped from their custody sometime around 2:30 yesterday afternoon.
Arnold who is on remand for the murder of a Ladyville Chinese businessman Hong Yi on June 13 of last year had just arrived from Magistrate's Court to the Queen Street police and was being taken to the cellblock when he escaped from them. He managed to steal a car and made his way to Central American Boulevard. On approaching the intersection with Faber's road he collided into this vehicle being driven at the time by a Holy Redeemer teacher. He quickly exited but not before making threats. He then disappeared in the Port Loyola neighborhood.
If the name Michael 'Crazy' Arnold rings a bell, it is because Arnold was the person police were trying to detain in Ladyville on June 14th of 2003 when Darnell McDonald was shot to death allegedly by a police officer.
