He was accused of killing his own cousin in a deadly machete brawl but tonight Israel Hernandez Orellano is clear of murder charges.
Today in Magistrate's Court, Orellano's attorney Mansel Thurton asked for a dismissal explaining that his client has been under remand since August of last year. In those 8 months, the case file has not been prepared and Thurton told the court that an innocent man might be spending time in jail for a crime he did not commit. With that the case was dismissed but police have detained the accused fearing that he may abscond to his home in Honduras.
On August 2nd of last year there was an argument at the home of 20-year-old Saul Montejo when he was chopped to death allegedly by cousin Orellana in front of two other relatives.
