Police say they've broken up a ring of thieves who've been breaking into cars on the city's north side.

Surveillance in the areas that have been targeted by the thieves has led to the apprehension of two men who were caught in the act of breaking into a car on Monday night. A number of items were recovered, these are believed to have been taken from vehicles over the past couple of weeks.

Anyone who believes that the items including computers and carry on bags belong to them can visit the queen street police station to examine them.
