On a sweltering day you'd think the only thing anyone would want to steal form an ice cream parlor is a bucket of vanilla ice cream but this afternoon robbers had cash, not cream on their minds when they robbed Scoops.
Just before 3 this afternoon, two young men wearing shorts and without masks went into Scoops and asked for two cones of rum and raisin iced cream. When the attendant turned to get the cones, one of them pulled out a gun and told her to get on the ground while the other jumped behind the counter and pointed a gun at her. They snatched two gold chains and a bracelet from her, and scooped up a few hundred dollars from the cash drawer.
Police responded immediately but haven't made any arrests.
