Belizean Woman Murdered In Melchor

A 55 year old Belizean woman living in Melchor was brutally knifed to death and tonight, police are trying to put together the clues to her death.

At around noon today Benque Viejo police were called out to an area near the banks of the Macal River adjacent to the border where they found the body of Carlotta Yacab Toralla. She had serious head injuries and also bore a number of stab wounds. The body was transported to the San Ignacio Hospital where it awaits a post mortem.

Yacab-Toralla is a Belizean but she was living in Melchor de Mencos. Belizean authorities are working with the Guatemalan police to determine who killed her.
