A 17 year old young man is tonight at the KHMH recovering from stab wounds he received on Friday evening.

Police were called to an area near Amara Avenue and Dean Street where they found 17 year old Luis Torres suffering from stab wounds to the abdomen. From his hospital bed Torres told us that he did not expect to be attacked because the person who stabbed him was someone he thought to be a friend.

Luis Torres, Stabbing Victim
"A man come to me with a hammer and a big kitchen knife and he came making a lot of noise and we told the man he was drunk and thing so was hollering things after me and another of my friend ran but I didn't because me and him didn't have any problem. nd then I told him why he chased my friend and he started to holler things after me and he came close to me and I told him to behave. He then came up to me and just stabbed me in my belly and ran. The same time he ran and I get up and just hurry gone because big ruction was happening and all my friends were going to go after him but then he hurry ran. Me and him were friends so I want to know what happened because I didn't know he would have done this to me. Everyday when I see him he usually hails me so we are like friends. It looks like he went through some problems with my friend and he tried to take it out of me."

Alfonso Noble,
"So you going back to the area where you were stabbed?"

Luis Torres,
"Yes I have to because that is like my family too and this man who stabbed me - he is like dizzy. He stabbed me and I have nothing with him. I see him everyday, he is like my friend and he just came and diss me like this."

Torres says that there were two other young men who were stabbed at the time; Patrick Flowers and Alex Lopez received only minor injuries and were treated and released.
