Teen Survives Drive-By Shooting

Lucky to be alive. That is probably how Fernando Middleton is feeling after he survived a drive-by shooting in the city on Friday night.

The 18-year-old who received three gunshots to his abdomen told police that he was riding his bicycle on Baracat Street when a four-door, gold colored car with three males pulled beside him. In a split second witnesses say shots came from the vehicle and Middleton jumped off his bike. He was still hit and had to be admitted to the KHMH for treatment. Police recovered one expended 9 millimeter shell from the scene of the shooting and are investigating.
