The men who police say terrorized the high seas last week posing as pirates with masks, guns, and making off with thousands of dollars in seafood were today arraigned in court.
First in court were 31 year old Lincoln "Kilo Boy" Allen and 23 year old Leonardo Casanova who appeared in Magistrate's Court this morning to answer a charge of robbery. Both men pleaded not guilty and were denied bail because the robbery was committed with a weapon. Casanova's Attorney Michel Chebat petitioned the court for bail for his client claiming it was a special circumstance since the robbery was committed with a mask. That request was turned down and both were remanded to the prison until August 6th.
That robbery charge was for an incident near Tobacco Caye on June 21st when Raymond Johnston claims he was working on a boat named "Yanise" when he was approached by two men who pushed him overboard and then took charge of the boat.
This afternoon both "Kilo Boy" Allen and Casanova were back in court along with Owen Parham who were jointly charged for attempted murder of Julian Ricalde in addition to grievous harm, use of deadly means of harm, and robbery. These other charges stem from a high sea robbery last week near Alligator and Rendezvous Cayes. The trio is also facing an additional charge of handling stolen goods for 2 blue 18-gallon containers, which were stolen from Ricalde's boat during the robbery. On those charges all three were also remanded to prison until August 6th.
And the one man who isn't in prison is Owen Parham known as 'Seguro' who was originally detained in connection with the crime. He was freed from detention to go to court for another hearing but police never followed up and when the court case was adjourned he was set free, and now, police can't find him.
