Police ID Dead Body found in Benque

Police believe they have identified the remains of the young woman found in Benque Viejo last week (see Dead body found near Western Border). She is 26-year-old Guatemalan Alba Veronica Garcia. This after family members identified the personal items that were discovered close to the remains. Police investigations so far have determined that the young woman was working at a banana farm in Mango Creek some two years ago and at the time had left for a Christmas vacation but was not seen since. No police report was ever made of her being missing. No cause of death has been determined, but foul play is suspected.
