Two murders in Belize city's alleyways claimed two lives in separate incidents this weekend.
We begin with the first which occurred on Saturday at around 8:00. 25 year old Keisha Gordon was on her way to a baby shower in the kings park area when she was pounced upon by an assailant or assailants in an alleyway that leads from Lizaraga avenue to Princess Margaret drive and fatally stabbed her to death. Alfonso noble picks it up from there:

Family members of 25 year old Keisha Gordon today gathered to mourn her death.
At around 8 on Saturday night Gordon was walking in this alley that connects Lizarraga Avenue and Princess Margaret Drive carrying a cake and gifts for a baby shower she was to attend. Midway into the alley she was attacked by a person or persons who stabbed her numerous times. The blood stained ground and walls tell of her struggle to get away from her assailant.
For her mother Elsiemae Gordon the loss is terrible, made worse because Keisha was not known to trouble anyone.
Elsiemae Gordon - Keisha's Mother
"Everybody loves Keisha. This morning when the doctor was talking to me, I was crying and he was saying he does not know why they killed Keisha. She is a mannerly person. Anywhere she sees you she calls you and makes noise."
"She does not fool with anyone. She is a quiet person and does not have anyone as an enemy. I'm hurt because she helps me. Anything I want I can depend on her for it. She is always at my side so I will miss her a lot".
"I would want to know who the person is because I want justice. I am getting tired of murders and people are getting away with it. They are not hanging people. Something has to be done. They hold an innocent person instead of finding the killer. I would want them to find the killer."
But while the family wants a killer found Elsiemae says that she suspects that a woman was somehow involved in the murder.
Elsiemae Gordon
"It's two persons, two persons: a man and a woman involved in this murder because my daughter has a lot of scratches on her. When a man fights he won't scratch you. It has to be a woman involved in it too".
For now that is mere speculation on the part of the grieving mother who is left with only memories of a daughter whom she'll dearly miss.
Elsiemae Gordon
"I miss my daughter, she helps me with everything. I want justice because if we don't get justice we'll have to do something. I'm getting tired of it".
Reporting for seven news Alfonso Noble.
Police had originally picked up Gordon's common law husband for the incident but he has since been released and investigators are now looking for the culprit or culprits.
