Excellent intelligence and action by police have them tonight in possession of a virtual weapons arsenal. At around 4:30 on Monday evening police from the special branch unit in Corozal visited an area in san victor village in the Corozal district where they discovered a number of weapons bundled in plastic bags. These include two live hand grenades, a Tech-9, a 9 millimeter automatic pistol, a 30-30 rifle, a point 38 Smith and Wesson revolver and 66 live rounds of assorted ammunition and three magazines. The discovery was made in an abandoned cane field in the village that lies on an unmanned area near the Orange Walk and Corozal borderline. The discovery points to well organized illegal activity and police continue to investigate to find the owners of the weapons, but the prospects are doubtful.
