Chinese Grocer Survives Mid-day Shootout

A well-known Chinese grocer is lucky to be alive tonight after a broad daylight shoot out with armed thieves at noon today.

Quan Sing was in his store which carries the same name on Racecourse Street when he told police two armed men, one wearing a ski mask, entered. Sing who declined an on-camera interview, said one of the men jumped behind the counter and opened fire. That is when Sing pulled out his registered 9-millimeter gun and fired back which sent the thieves high-tailing out of the store. A police mobile unit which was in the area at the time set chase and recovered one of the firearms. They are still looking for the two suspects.
