The so-called "Butcher of South Beach" signed his extradition papers in Magistrate's Court this morning and now it is only a matter of time before one of America's most wanted is on his way back to
America.
64-year-old Reynaldo de la Concepcion Sylvestre appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord where he signed the requisite documents in the presence of Andrea McSweaney from the DPP's office. The allegedly bad doctor is wanted for aggravated battery, organized fraud, and fourteen counts of practicing without a license. With the paper work completed, Sylvestre was taken back into police custody where he remains tonight awaiting a clearance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security so he can jump on a chartered jet to Miami.
Sylvestre called Belize home since 2000 and most recently was teaching at a medical school in Burrell Boom. Yesterday in court he verbally waived his right to an extradition hearing.
