Police Receive Fingerprint Training

33 police officers from the Belize PD are now certified in the art of fingerprinting. The officers participated in a two week basic fingerprinting course at the training academy in Belmopan. Graduation ceremonies were held this afternoon at the George Price Center where Police Commissioner Jose Zetina distributed certificates flanked by Home Affairs Minister Ralph Fonseca. At this afternoon's ceremony, the Scenes of Crime Unit was also officially inaugurated this is part of an overall effort to upgrade the Police Department's forensic investigative techniques which should lead to more effective investigations.
