The on site post mortem on the body of police constable Morris Martinez finished at 11:00 last night. The examination showed that he had been brutally killed with a hard blow to the back of his head form a blunt object, and then with a chop wound across his nose and eyes. Investigators also noted that his hand had been tied behind his back. While he was found in a bushy area off a feeder road near a cane field on the Consejo Road, police believe he was killed elsewhere on the night of December 22nd and then later transferred to this more remote area. Because of the advanced state of decomposition, he had to be buried on site, and presently it's not clear how funeral arrangements will be handled because typically the 16 year veteran of the department would have been buried with full police honors. The motive is still not known, but police expect to bring charges against the three men who were originally charged for robbery. According to police sources, one of them has signed a caution statement.
