Belmopan police have tracked down a group of bandits believed to have been terrorizing the area around St. Margaret's Village. After reports of armed assaults by men wearing camouflage over the past few weeks, the police increased patrols in the area. That paid off yesterday when a patrol team saw two suspicious men prowling on the highway near St. Margaret's Village. The pair ran into the bushes when they saw police, but police caught up with them. A search of the area turned up assorted pieces of military clothing, and an AK-47 assault rifle. Our sources say the men, who are Guatemalans, have confessed to involvement with a number of armed robberies in the area and police are working with them to track down other suspects.
