A man was almost killed after an argument over a beer early Saturday morning. His name is 29-year-old David Aguilar and he is tonight in the Belmopan Hospital with chop wounds to his face, head, and right elbow. Police say Aguilar was attacked by two men while heading to his home in the Salvapan Area of Belmopan early Saturday morning. Aguilar was drinking with his attackers in a bar on Friday night when he refused to buy one of his companions a beer. When he later stepped outside of the bar he had an altercation with his friends who then threatened his life. It wasn't until later when Aguilar was heading home that he was attacked on Costa Rica Street by two men armed with a machete. He was left for dead and police didn't find him, still clinging to life, at 6 on Saturday morning. Police have one suspect detained and are looking for a second.
