Michael "Crazy" Arnold today walked free from murder charges. Arnold was accused of the June 13th 2003 killing of Chinese grocer Kong Yi in Ladyville. Today the case was dismissed at the request of the DPP. Part of the problem was that the prosecution's chief witness was Arnold's wife who wanted to testify against her husband who she married a month before the crime. But spouses can't testify against each other, and after she had that derailed the case. Arnold was freed from murder but not free to go because he is still serving a 5 year sentence for robbery.

Of note is that police were looking for Arnold in Ladyville on June 14, 2003 when an officer shot and killed Darnell Macdonald.
