4 men were hospitalized this afternoon following what can only be described as an execution attempt on Queen Charlotte Street. At around 2:30 this afternoon, four men: 22 year old Mervin Underwood, 26 year old Marlon Robinson, 26 year old Tyrone Neal and 25 year old Kirk Baird were inside a house on Queen Charlotte Street when they came under fire. Reports are that two gunmen approached the building, one from the back and the other from the front, and began to shoot inside the house. They scrambled to get outside, and that's when Underwood was hit on the right side of his chest and leg, Robinson was hit on his hip and leg, and Baird was hit on the left leg. As for Neal, he was not hit by any bullets but he displaced his right kneecap while dashing for cover. Shortly after, we spoke to Mervin Underwood Sr. and he told us he had just left his son when he heard about the shooting.
Mervin Underwood Sr.,
"I met my son with a boy in the house down there and he was dodging me and was upstart to me. I told him I didn't want those people at my house. Then I went to George Street and this man come and told me that my son got shot. I feel bad because that is my blood. I help my wife to make that."
Working swiftly, the CIB office has detained one person and believe they have one of the weapons used, which is a pistol. The motive is believed to be payback for a shooting earlier this morning at the corner of Mex and Amara avenue which left 17 year old Reynold Michael with a gunshot injury to his right foot.
