Meanwhile, another man was arraigned in Magistrate's Court to face charges following the shooting of 25 year old Marlon Fisher. Fisher was shot in the back last week Thursday night on Baghdad Street; it was the second time in three weeks that he received a serious gunshot injury.
This afternoon, Altheus Smith appeared in court this afternoon to answer charges including attempted murder. Police believe Smith is an associate of another man who is presently at the Hattieville Prison awaiting trial for the earlier attempt on Fisher's life. Investigators say he may have been trying to snuff out the key witness.
As we reported earlier this week, Fisher has a storied criminal past, but after recently finishing a stint in prison, says he is now leaving the city to pursue his Christian beliefs.
