There is another disturbing development in last month's shocking murder of 4-year-old Oscar Velasquez. Over the weekend police charged another teenager, this time a 14 year old with murder. His arrest is more interesting because he grew up in the same house with Oscar. And what's more is that he was an active part of search efforts for Oscar by helping to pass out flyers and scouring the muddy creek. But while he searched and even gave an interview to 7NEWS, police said he knew all along what had happened to Oscar. We note the new suspect is also the half brother of Dorian Henry who discovered the body. The teenager was picked up on Thursday night after the first murder suspect's brother fingered him claiming the two of them had plotted the murder. He was taken into custody and police say he confessed. His family today confirmed his confession to 7NEWS.
In related news, Oscar's surviving siblings are now in the custody of their father Jorge Velasquez while their mother tries to get her life back together.
