A man died at the KHMH this morning at the hands of another man believed to be a mental patient. At around 8 this morning, George Requena died after being admitted at the KHMH on Sunday.
Police report that at around 2 on Sunday morning 25 year old Nelson Lopez attacked Georgeville resident George Requena with a piece of board. He struck Requena to the head and he had to be hospitalized. The violent encounter took place at an unnamed bar in Georgeville. At the time Lopez approached Requena to sell him a sour-sop for $3. When he refused, Lopez picked up the board and struck him in the head. The body of Requena is at the KHMH where it awaits a post mortem.
Police have now charged this man, 26-year-old Nelson Lopez. He has been remanded into custody.
