He is the well-known owner of the Player's Den Bar on Barrack Road, but last night, 31 year old night club owner George Ming was shot when he refused to hand over his 9 millimeter gun.

Ming says that shortly after 10 last night he was standing in front of his business, the Player's Den, on Barrack Road when a dark skinned man with braided hair wearing a dark colored shirt approached him and asked for $2. Ming refused and that's when he was accosted by an accomplice from behind who lifted up his shirt. The assailant was reaching for Ming's 9 millimeter gun from his side. Ming wrestled with him and scrambled back into the Player's Den. His assailants gave up but not before shooting Ming.

They fired off a shot and the bullet hit him in his right shoulder and is lodged in the right side of his chest. Both assailants rode off on bicycles down Pickstock Street. Tonight, Ming is still hospitalized in a stable condition.
