And in a correction to a story we aired last night, we need to note that the late release on yesterday's re-opening of talks between Belize and Guatemala was sent from Belize's Embassy in Guatemala, and not Guatemala's Embassy in Belize as we had stated. Still, the release, which came in just before newstime, continues to be noteworthy for other reasons.

It notes that there will be a new set of confidence building measures to be agreed to in September. It notes that there is a framework agreement for negotiations which will look to find a definitive solution, "through political and juridical means established in international law".

Though yesterday's meeting was held in Antigua, Guatemala, regular meetings are expected to follow in both countries under the auspices of the Organization of American States. The OAS will also call a meeting of the group of friends in September to update these countries on the state of negotiations and relations.
