Armed and masked gunmen were waiting for Tropic Air employee Luis Tingling when he got to his Belama home yesterday evening.
Police have not provided details, but 7 news has learnt that around 6:00 pm, Tingling arrived at his home on Breadnut street near the Belama Park. He told police that he saw an unusual car waiting on the street, and when he got out of his vehicle, a man wearing a mask and carrying an assault rifle got out of the waiting car. Tingling dashed away from his home and ran into the park. Neighbors tell us that two men followed, and so did the waiting car. They got a handle on him in the park when he fell in a drain, and then put him in the car and sped off.
He was reportedly questioned in the car about some money that he was carrying for Tropic Air - as much as 5 thousand dollars that the company had collected over the weekend and he was instructed to take home. Tingling told police that fearing for his life, he handed over the money - and they dumped him out of the car near Mapp Street. Tingling reportedly caught a taxi home - and then had to be hospitalized for hypertension. He declined to speak to us today form his bed at the KHMH and police would only say that they are looking at the complaint very closely, but no arrests have been made.
