Teen Killed in Pile-up with Dump Truck

And while their condition is dire, there are other serious accidents to report tonight. First, a teenaged female was killed when a dump truck tried to overtake her on the Belize River Valley Road. 19-year-old Orange Walk resident, Reina Mendoza was driving a Honda Accord from Burrell Boom to Bermudian Landing when 19-year-old Kirk Bood tried to overtake her in a dump truck. But he grazed her back bumper and that sent the Accord tumbling. It flipped several times and Mendoza survived the flip, but died on her way to the hospital. Bood has been detained pending charges.
