American Couple Missing at Sea?

There are reliable but unconfirmed reports tonight that an American couple and their Belizean fishing guide are missing tonight off Long Caye, a tiny island in the extreme eastern waters of Belize.

7NEWS has received only unofficial reports, but our information is that the couple, Ron Hardwick and Linda Hodge who live on the island went fishing at noon Sunday with their guide, who is an employee known to us only as "Abraham." They reportedly went out in their 25 foot skiff with two 75 horsepower engines.

7NEWS has confirmed that the BDF Air Wing has been participating in search efforts, but up to news time they were unsuccessful. We'll have more on this developing story in tomorrow night's newscast.
