Last night we showed you the two men from San Jose Village in the Orange Walk District who are accused of a hideous crime: sexually and physically abusing a six year old boy. Yesterday the 6-year-old boy's mother spoke to our affiliates at the Northern Cable Network. It's a terrible story, but unfortunately it's one we must tell in some detail. To protect the child, the team from Northern spoke to his mother without revealing her identity. She narrated to them what happened on Sunday afternoon.

Alfonso Noble Reporting,
This mother was at home on Sunday afternoon getting ready to bake bread when she heard a child's screams coming from her neighbor, Domingo Chuc's, house.

Mother,
"I was in bed and I went to get some wood to light my fire and then and beside the warehouse there was a house and I heard a little boy crying. I went to see if it was my little boy. I asked the man who was there who was crying and he told me it was his little son. I then went and peeped by the window and I saw it was my little boy."

This desperate mother then rushed into the house to rescue her son. She found him badly injured.

Mother,
"When I saw my little boy he was bleeding in his face and it was very very bad. I took him into my arms and I called for my father and my brothers for help because it was very very bad what they did to him. I saw him in a very bad condition because his shirt was bloody and he cannot eat now. The only thing he does is ask for water."

These grisly images taken from the hospital bed with his mother's permission show that both of his eyes are bloodshot from being beaten, one of his eyes are black and blue his neck is scratched. Inside the house, we also see a blood stained bed board. His mother says that her son coughed up the blood while he was being held.

The injury to the child sparked outrage from villagers who detained the two men, then vented their anger on the house where the boy was being held, partially breaking it down with their bare hands. While that was an understandable reaction, what this mother could not understand was the motive for the hideous attack. She says she hardly even knew the men living next to her.

Mother,
"They only drink in that house and when they finish drinking they sleep and go and then the next day they come back and drink again. We couldn't imagine that that was going to happen."

Now that it has and since the 6 year old is recovering from the attack with visible signs of his assault, she says everything is being done to keep Domingo Chuc and David Camara behind bars to make sure this doesn't happen.

Mother,
"My father is the chairman of the village and they are saying that they will not be released from jail because that was a little boy. It wasn't a big person, it was a little boy. He is six years old."

And now she says she hopes that parents everywhere take heed of what has happened here and speak to their children.

Mother,
"This could happen to anybody. I am asking everybody to please keep an eye on their children. Even if your are small, because they can understand, tell them everyday and every minute what is going on and they will understand they will keep it in their mind. And even the little boy and the little girl can pass the message to another little boy."

Sobering advice and the kind that, after seeing what happened to this boy, is the kind that parents should not take lightly.

The men 46-year-old Domingo Chuc and 36-year-old David Camara have been remanded to the Hattieville Prison until December 22nd on charges of garroting, harm and indecent assault. According to the medical examiner, there is no indication that the child had been sodomized, but there is some physical evidence to suggest, not confirm, that he may have been made to engage in an oral sex act.
