He goes by two names: Samer Safa and Yasser Safa, but tonight police want him for one crime: buying thousands of dollars in expensive merchandise with fake checks at multiple locations.

Safa hit Courts Belize limited last Wednesday where he went in and bought a 42-inch plasma television set. Using the alias Samer Safa, he paid the $4,500 with a check drawn on Atlantic Bank. Courts got the bad news on Friday when Atlantic Bank returned the check.

Police now say that Courts' wasn't the first or his second hit, it was his third. In September, one Zane Ysaguierre purchased a printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine from Associated Engineering Services. The total price was $1,350 and Ysaguierre paid with a check from Yasser Safa's account. AES later found out that account had sufficient funds. Safa first surfaced on the radar as far back as February when a 40-foot container arrived from Houston. The container was reportedly in the name of Gabean Gabb and her husband, this time he was Yasser Safa and he visited Belizean Shipping Agency and paid the $5,943.45 bill with a Belize Bank check. As with all the checks, that one also bounced.
