And as we reported at the top, _the baby's father 28 year old Leroy Rhaburn Sr., known as 'Red Ants,' has been charged along with the child's uncles Brent and Burton Garoy for aggravated assault and attempted murder. Those charges are for a shooting which occurred around 9 on Saturday night.
Police say Edison Chee and Michael Samuels were standing at the corner of West and Bishop Streets when "Red Ants" and two other men on bicycles passed and told them they don't belong on the block. The men continued to ride and victims claim that 'Red Ants' allegedly pulled out a gun and fired five shots in their direction. No one was hit and police didn't recover any expended shell. Word on the street is that the shooting might have been what sent the gunman to Taylor's Alley three hours later. We note that "Red Ants" has a robbery case pending from December 6th.
