He went from being the self-described chief of security for Prime Minister Said Musa to an accused child molester. Well tonight 57-year-old James Saunders has been cleared of all charges. Saunders and his 22-year-old common law-wife Geneva Estrada were accused of molesting a 9 and a 10-year-old girl about six years ago. The DPP re-filed charges in November of 2004 but today Prosecutor Kamar Henry told the court she doesn't wish to proceed with a trial. A jury was already empanelled and so Justice Adolph Lucas directed them to find Saunders and Estrada not guilty.
Saunders was charged with two counts of unlawful knowledge and Estrada was charged with two counts of abetment. Both can never be retried. The accusation was that Estrada allegedly held down the girls while Saunders molested them.
