He was shot in the arm - but, nonetheless, today a Belize City man was charged for attempted murder and dangerous harm. Around 7:30 last night, 26-year-old Shelton Smith was riding on Raccoon Street when he was approachedby two men who tried to stop him. Smith tried to ride off but one of the men, Mark Anthony held him. Jamal Betancourt who was with Anthony then allegedly started firing and shot smith in the hand, but also shot Anthony by mistake. Both men were hospitalized, but Anthony, who had been shot to the upper arm, escaped from the hospital. This morning, his attorney turned him into police. He was expected to be charged with attempted murder and dangerous harm this evening.
