A pair of 16 year olds are remanded into custody tonight after being charged for robbery. The two young men who are attending high school along with 20-year-old Shane Morgan appeared in Magistrate's Court today where they were charged with 2 counts of robbery. The 16 year olds were remanded to the Youth Hostel while Morgan was remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
The charges arose after 17-year-old Doran Chun reported to police that at around 8:30 on February 25 she was walking on Hicatee Street with her boyfriend Estevan Teck when 3 young men on bikes rolled up on them. One of them pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Teck's forehead and took away his and jewelry.
Police tracked down the alleged assailants over the weekend, and when they approached one of the students, they found an imitation firearm and Chun's earrings in his pants pocket. The other student had Chun's chain, which carries her name on it, in his pocket. All three were remanded until April 27th.
