Two men have been murdered in the west and Cayo police have detained three men for questioning. At around 5:30 on Sunday morning police were called to a ranch some three miles off the lower Barton Creek Road where they found the bodies of two Hispanic men. One was found lying face down with multiple chop wounds to the body. The second man was found nearby in a small house lying on a bed with what appeared to be stab wounds to the chest. Both men were transported to the San Ignacio hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have so far identified one of the men as 65-year-old Salvadoran Ricardo Flores of a Santa Elena address. The second man is yet to be identified but is also believed to be a Salvadoran.
