Usher and Eligio appeared in court alongside their attorney Richard "Dickie" Bradley. Bradley requested bail but Magistrate Margaret Gabb-McKenzie denied it. Bradley requested bail because there is a third police officer who was named in the girl's report, but he has yet to be charged. We have seen the report and in it the girl claims she had sex with the yet unnamed officer 50 times. Bradley says his clients shouldn't be the only ones in jail tonight.

"It's a very serious offense and I am told by the investigating officer that in fact the investigation is ongoing because there are other persons who are still being investigated in relation to the matter. It is an indictable offense so it goes to the Supreme Court and of course under our system when you make an allegation there is a time when the facts have to come out first and then you deal with that."

We don't want to try the case on TV but do your clients concede that they know this girl?

"Well at this stage the young lady clearly has made a complaint hush the police are of the view that they have sufficient evidence to lay a charge and there are others to whom they are laying a charge. This is a very serious matter and a child has lost her innocence and is actually expecting a baby."

So she is pregnant and claiming that one of your clients did it.

"She is claiming that there are several persons whom unlawfully had sex with her, which is a matter before the court."

"Well we will wait until the trial comes about Keith. It's a very sensational matter, the situation is that the matter of bail is entirely in the discretion of the magistrate. This particular magistrate has expressed serious concern at the fact the sheet calls the name of three police officers in which we were all taken aback that the complainant, the child, is saying that one officer had sex with her 50 times and that officer had not yet been arrested and these two officers were denied bail."
