He is accused of robbing a Chinese businesswoman at knifepoint, stabbing her husband and possessing crack cocaine....but the worse part is that the man accused of all those dastardly deeds is a police officer. He is Constable #1018 Wilfredo Petillo and he is accused of robbing Bai Li Club on Lover's Lane in Orange Walk around 7:30 last night.
43-year-old Ghen Guany Zhi told police that he was in the back of the store when heard his wife cry out for help. He ran to the front and that is when he found Constable Petillo allegedly raiding the cash drawer. Zhi struggled for control of the knife and that is when he was cut in the back of his head. Constable Petillo escaped but police tracked him down to his home where they found 0.2 grams of crack cocaine.
The disgraced Constable is now facing charges of wounding, damage to property, and possession of a controlled drug. He was arraigned in court and released on $5,000 bail plus two $2,500 sureties. He re-appears in court on July 5th. He is now on interdiction pending the outcome of his criminal trial.
