One of two men charged with the murder of UB librarian Sherwin Requena walked free today. Evan Neal appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer where the Magistrate dismissed the case against him. She pointed out that in the preliminary investigation she could not find enough evidence to connect Neal to the murder of Sherwin Requena.
The case of the other accused, 18-year-old Edward Lord is different. A prima facie case was established and his case will now be referred to the Supreme Court. Lord is to return to court on June 27th.
Sherwin Requena was gunned down on September 4th of last year near to his home on Zacaranda Street.
