Orange Walk police believe that they may have identified human remains that were found on Thursday at mile 10 on the Honey Camp Road in the Orange Walk District. They believe the remains may be linked to a missing person report made in May. That's when Efrain Cal told police that his 62-year-old brother Misael Cal hadn't been since April 16th when a friend left him at the Playa Blanca Area.
The reason for the delay in making the report was that his brother had been known to go on extended drinking sprees and would go missing for days at a time.
The forensic examiner Dr. Mario Estradabran has the bones and will base his findings against the report and the detail that Misael Cal had broken his leg years before, evidence of which would still be visible on the bones. Estradabran will also try to determine if there was foul play involved in the death.
