A 48-year-old man has been charged after an American woman made allegations that he sexually assaulted her. 26-year-old Cheryl Sixkiller reported to police that whilst receiving a massage at Maruba Jungle Resort on Friday she was sexually assaulted. The woman told police that she was on the table getting a massage when she fell asleep.
When she woke she found the masseuse known to her only as Jose on top of her. He had his pants and underwear down to his ankles. Upon seeing this Sixkiller pushed him away and she managed to kick away a chair that was used to jam the door of the massage room. She ran to the main office of the resort and reported the incident.
Police have since arrested and charged 48-year-old Jose Olivera Chacon with the crime of aggravated assault. He was taken to Magistrate's Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail in the sum of $4,000. He is to reappear in court on September 1.
