Two men are detained tonight after being beaten by police to the point that one of them ended up on a stretcher and the other with a broken hand. Tanisha Myers says she was at home yesterday around 5:30 when police came to her neighbor's house on Freedom Street responding to a domestic dispute. While the police never managed to capture their suspect for the original call, they did issue a beating on three men in whose yard the suspect ran. Compounding that is that family members tell us that the two men who were arrested are still not charged for any crime. Myers explains.

"While assisting one of the officers, showing him where Mr. Carr was, they did nothing. They made Mr. Carr run straight pass and run away. The officers from the back street came around without any word or anything. He went straight up to where my brother was. He met the doorlocked and he said to open it. He came back down, he hit my brother with his baton. My mom jumped in front, put her hand up and got hit with the baton, and he went and strangled my other brother Goldburn. My brother was just picking in his clothes and he said he didn't have time to waste with them. He was picking in his clothes and one of the officers rushed him1 in the house. There are broken glasses in his his house which the officers knocked. After strangling him, one of the officers came from behind, hit him between his crotch. After he hit him between the crotch, he came around and started hitting my brother on his shoulder and his arms because my brother was hugging up my mom. The officers continued to hit him on the arm until he broke his baton and broke my brother's arm in the process. While in the vehicle, that same officer that broke my brother's arm, took someone else's baton and started jamming my brother Egbert. I don't know where the hits were landing but all I could hear was my brothers screaming. It is the first time I heard big men cry. My brother Egbert had to be transported to the hospital on a stretcher. My other brother Goldburn, his hand is in a cast right now.
One word to sum it up, we want justice. We want those to pay. We want them stripped of their badges. By the time we are done with them they will even be stripped of their dignity. That is my life's goal from today on. They can come into my house, they can raid my house a million times. The only thing they will find is maybe parsley and mistake it for marijuana or baking powder and mistake it for cocaine. I have nothing in my house to hide. I don't even drink or smoke so they can come all hours of the night if they are unsatisfied with when we are through with them."
Those detained by police are Goldburn Miller and Elbert Anderson. Miller suffered a broken arm while Anderson has other injuries as a result of being beaten.
