In October, Ursula Hill told the DPP to bring it on, and he has. Acting on the instructions of the DPP, the CIB Office yesterday assessed the 38-year-old Hill with some new charges.
We say new charges, because on October 20th the former star witness in the Gabby Affif case was charged for giving contradictory evidence and fabricating evidence.
Now she has been charged with 6 counts of forgery, 6 counts of possession of false document, and 6 counts of uttering on a forged document. This is for 6 Belizean nationality applications, 5 Chinese and one Arab that Hill is alleged to have processed. More charges may still follow. But that's hardly a bother to her, she's convinced that truth will prove her innocence. On October 20th a defiant Hill, told 7NEWS that the DPP can bring any charges he wants, she is ready.
Ursula Hill,
[October 20th, 2006] "...Whatever he is willing to charge me with, I am willing to stand up with him. All I can say to the DPP is bring it on and the nation will hear the truth about those passports because there is more to those passports than he is saying."
As has been widely reported, Hill, a former Immigration Department employee, was Gabby Affif's secretary and was expected to have been the legal lynchpin for the prosecution. But, her testimony did not implicate him and only implicated her, an inconsequential development because the DPP gave her immunity, on the grounds that she would testify against her former boss. But her testimony did not suit the DPP - because he claims it did not mirror her statements to him - that immunity has been waived, and she will now be prosecuted to the full extent.
