Dennis "Desho" Quilter was among the trio of prisoners who escaped yesterday evening but he was captured shortly after.
So today 31 year old Quilter appeared twice in Magistrate's Court.
This morning he appeared to answer to charges of attempted burglary and damage to property.
On June 7th of this year Quilter tried to break into the home of attorney Emile Arguelles. Arguelles wasn't at home and when he arrived he saw a Geo Prism speeding away. But Arguelles had security cameras scanning the perimeter of his home and when he checked the video, he saw quilter attempting to pry open the burglar bars of 3 windows. The video was admitted into evidence clearly showing quilter at work. Arguelles also testified that Quilter had come to him apologizing for the break in and asked him to drop the charges.
Still, Quilter called his mother to offer an alibi but she wasn't much help; she told the court she hadn't seen her son in a long time.
With that Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord sentenced him to 7 and a half years in prison.
But that wasn't the end of it; he was returned to court in the afternoon for the charge of escape. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to an additional 2 years in prison…..
Another man who escaped yesterday, Casey Allen was recaptured, while Errol Hinds is still at large.
