Police are tonight searching for the family of a boy who was found deserted this morning. The boy who is estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old was found in the Iguana Street area and was taken to the Raccoon Street Police Station. He was taken to the police station by John Perez who told us where he found him.
John Perez,
"I was passing just now and I saw this young boy walking by himself and the people they tried to talk to him but they didn't know because he speaks in Spanish. So I was passing and they told me to talk to him because I am Spanish too. I asked where his mother was and he said he doesn't know who is his mom so I am asking the taco ladies out there and they said they don't know him so I brought him to the station for them to find his mom. I asked him who is his mom but he can't talk good so he can't really communicate so I don't know."
Last check close to news-time said the child still had not been claimed. He is now at the children's home. Anyone who can reunite the boy with his family can contact the Belize City Police Station at 227-2222.
