In August of last year we introduced you to "Ras Trans" a reggae artist from the Jane Usher Boulevard area. He showed us his debut video for "Youths be Humble." The song was off a collective called "Brock Jam Underground." The video for another song off that compilation has been released. The vocalist this time is Ras Nimbran and his song is "the youths dem a cry." He told us why he has become a voice for the youths from his area.

Ras Nimbran,
"The video is a song which was inspired by the youths from back there, just by living on Jane Usher Blvd. Everyday you get up you hear different things happening around. I look at my youths in Jane Usher, because I live back there and I am feeling it the same way too. I am a father who has so much kids and me one is taking care of them so I am feeling the pressure too.

The youths are crying but they aren't crying physically so you can see their eye water. Some of them cry physically but some of them cry mentally and that is what makes me sing this song.

In my music I am pushing a message to my people because I want to see better out of them. I can't come out here and talk, I have to sing it through my music because that is what the youths listen to, they listen through music. If I go to talk to them it comes through one ears and goes through the next ears. But if it has a rhythm to it or flow, they will listen to it."

The video was directed by Dennis Peyrefitte and you can see it in its entirety on Channel 7. The Brock Jam Underground CD is in music stores.
