A jury convicted him on March 21st of attempting to sodomize a teenage boy and today it was sentencing day for 37-year-old Trevor Henry. Two witnesses made mitigation pleas on Henry's behalf to Justice Adolph Lucas.
Henry also spoke and begged for leniency because he has a four-year-old son whose well being he is concerned about. Henry also told the judge he isn't sure he will make it out of the Hattieville Prison alive. Justice Lucas also considered a report from a social worker which showed that while Henry has no criminal record, there is a similar report on file involving sexual impropriety between Henry and another teenaged boy. No criminal charges were however filed in that instance.
After taking all that into consideration, Justice Lucas sentenced Henry to four years in prison.
Henry originally went on trial for committing an unnatural crime. The jury opted to convict him of attempting to commit an unnatural crime because medical evidence presented during the trial showed that the boy wasn't sodomized but there had apparently been an attempt at that.
