A Quality Poultry Products deliveryman in Dangriga was held up on Surday morning and police say the robber is a former employee of the poultry producer. That alleged robber is this man, 21-year-old Sheldon Burgess and tonight he is being sought by police.
On Saturday 34-year-old driver Maynor Castellanos was sent by his office to deliver 200 chickens to an area near the Dangriga airstrip. But when Castellanos and his sideman Fulton Castillo got to the area it was deserted.
Castellanos says they were driving out of the area when a tall dark skinned man wearing a mask appeared and placed a gun to his head. The man grabbed Castellanos' money bag containing $3,198.30. Castellanos says they fought back and he grabbed the masked assailant's gun and pulled off his mask. And that's when he realized it was Burgess.
Realizing that he had been identified, Burgess allegedly grabbed the money bag and escaped. Sideman Fulton Castillo was treated at the Southern Regional Hospital for the injury to his head. Police have recovered the black warm cap they believe Burgess was wearing as well as a.22 Beretta pistol loaded with 2 live rounds of ammunition.
