39-year-old David Sosa will spend one year in jail for grabbing a women's backside. This morning Magistrate Roberto Ordonez convicted Sosa of indecent assault for the incident which occurred on September 16th of 2006.
The complainant, who is a security guard, told the court that on the Saturday afternoon she was crossing the bridge which connects St. Jude and Sibun Streets when Sosa grabbed her behind. His attack however didn't end there because she claims he then threw a Guinness stout bottle at her and then threatened to kill her. In a statement from the dock, Sosa denied it ever happened.
In addition to the conviction for indecent assault, Sosa was also found guilty of using threatening words. For that charge he was sentenced to an additional six months in jail. The sentences will run consecutively to any sentence Sosa is currently serving.
